Q: Good Day Aidan, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
A: Hi. My name’s Aidan Froese and I’ve lived in The Pas for all of my life. I’m 16 years old and live with my family including my parents and younger brother. I am currently in Grade 11 at M.B.C.I. I’m very interested in photography, videography and editing.
Q: It's very refreshing to see younger people that show such a passion for art. Can you tell our readers a little bit about your photography?
A: Throughout my life I’ve watched my mom capture moments of my life that I now get to look back on. That is what got me interested into photography to start out with. I started out taking pictures with my iPhone. The simplicity of it was really fun as I always had my phone on me.
Eventually I bought a camera myself (Sony a6300) and have been shooting with it ever since. I have many inspirations, some include Andre Brandt, Andrew Kearns, Brandon Woelfel, Michael Flugstad and Forrest Mankins.
I’m quite new to photography so my style is still changing but I feel as though my style is going towards an adventure/lifestyle path - with pictures from different experiences I’ve had and moments being a majority of my photos.
Q: What are your goals with photography?
A: I strive to be a commercial or freelance photographer/videographer when I grow up. It is a career that would continue to challenge me throughout to constantly be creative. For short term I plan on continuing with what I am doing and constantly improving and staying consistent.
Q: You'll be helping out our website by doing some Q&A's with locals and some people that have grew up here. Do you feel it's important that the distinct stories of our communities are told?
A: I feel as though there are many interesting stories from the people that live here that are not publicly told but really deserve to be. There are so many unique people here with equally as unique stories to tell.
I am excited to work with thepas.com to talk to some of these people about their stories and experiences.
Q: Thanks so much for taking the time to chat. Did you have any final words for our readers?
A: I can’t wait to start with the Q&A’s and hearing about all of the stories from people around here. I’m also very excited to continue taking photos around town of landscapes, people and different events throughout the year.
