Michelle Geary

Q: Hello Michelle, can you tell us just a little about yourself?

A: Hello! I grew up in The Pas and have spent most of my life here. I have a beautiful 12 year old son who lights up my world. As an outdoor enthusiast I enjoy spending my free time taking advantage of our beautiful surroundings.

Q: Over the past few years your artwork has brought many people joy. Can you tell us a little bit about some of your art, and where it ends up?

A: I began my career as a professional artist as a jewellery designer - first creating simple wire wrapped jewellery, eventually finding my groove creating sterling silver jewellery using traditional metalsmithing techniques incorporating wire wrapping elements. It's been about a decade that I have offered my pieces for sale online which has been amazing because I've been able to send my jewellery to collectors all over the world.

Q: What are your biggest inspirations for your art?

A: Visually I'm inspired by nature and the beauty found in the wilderness surrounding our community. There is also great inspiration drawn from patrons of Wild Soul Studio - the joy of someone falling in love with a piece of jewellery I've created or the beauty found in gifting flowers. A face lit up by a beautiful smile is very inspiring, indeed.

Q: You recently opened a retail spot in Downtown The Pas. Can you tell us a little bit about your business?

A: Wild Soul Studio is a boutique-style shop specializing in flowers and gifts with soul. My intention is to create an atmosphere in the shop that is pleasing to all of your senses - it feels good, looks lovely and smells fantastic. Each line of products I offer are handmade, created by entrepreneurs like myself who are passionate about their brand.

Q: Given the challenging nature of our current economics, why do you keep pushing forward with your business?

A: Well this is most definitely the easiest of all the questions to answer... Why? Because this is my dream and I love what I do.

Q: Thanks so much for the chat, and final words?

A: You're welcome, thanks for the opportunity to share a little! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in the shop and the adventures to come!
