Hayden Yaremko

Q: Hello Hayden, thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us. First off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

A: I am 19 years old, born and raised right here in The Pas. My parents are Wayne and Shawn, and younger siblings are Hudson and Halle. Some of my hobbies include hockey, working out, fishing, and hunting.

Q: Can you tell our readers a little bit about life growing up here?

A: Life growing up here has been good. I’ve been very fortunate to have had many great opportunities. I played for The Pas Huskies right from squirts to bantam, attended school in the Kelsey School Division, worked for the Town of The Pas during the summers and have met a lot of great people along the way!

Q: You have the amazing opportunity to play with our Junior Team, the Blizzard. Can you tell us a little bit about that?

A: Playing for the Blizzard has been a dream of mine since I was young. To achieve that goal was a milestone in my life, as like you mentioned, it is an amazing opportunity. I can’t thank my parents enough for their support, and coaches along the way that helped me get to this point. Playing for the Blizzard is different than most Junior programs which makes it so special. We are together 24/7, have a great group of guys and staff, and get treated well by the team as well as the community! All of the guys seem to enjoy their time here, and I personally wouldn’t want to play my Junior anywhere else but right here at home.

Q: What are some of things what you love about living in the North?

A: I love living in the North. My family spends our summers at Clearwater Lake and I really enjoy the lake life. Also having the freedom to hop on my sled, or quad, and drive right from my backyard is a privilege we have living up here.

Q: Tell us about your personal thoughts about the fan support for Blizzard.

A: The fan support throughout the playoffs especially has been phenomenal. It is a huge boost for us to have such loud and passionate fans - the best in the league by far! Opposing teams definitely do not look forward to setting foot in the GLMC and it gives us that little extra edge. Thank you so much to all the fans who come out and support us, it means so much to our team!

Q: Thank you for taking the time to chat, and best of luck in the rest of your series! Bring that cup home! Did you have any final comments?

A: Thanks a lot for having me. We want to bring the Turnbull Cup back home, it’s been far too long! You can follow Hayden on facebook and instagram.
